Installation

Download the latest version of Blaze from GitHub:

Download Blaze.pkg

You can also visit the GitHub Releases page to see all available versions.

  1. Open the downloaded .pkg file
  2. Follow the installer prompts — Blaze will be installed to /Applications/Blaze.app
  3. Launch Blaze from your Applications folder or Spotlight

When you first open Blaze, it will:

  1. Download server components — Nginx, MariaDB, and your selected PHP versions are downloaded automatically. This only happens once.
  2. Select PHP versions — Choose which PHP versions you want installed (e.g., PHP 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4). You can add more later from Settings.
  3. Set up the privileged helper — Blaze will ask for your password to install a helper service that enables custom .local domains and SSL certificates on port 80.

Once setup is complete, you’re ready to create your first WordPress site.

Blaze checks for updates automatically using Sparkle. When an update is available, you’ll see a notification in the app. Click “Update” to download and install the latest version.

You can also check for updates manually from the app settings.
